No Rastro de Catarina marks the triumphant return of Cátia de França to original material — her first album of new songs in eight years — and one of the most significant records of her half-century career. Twelve tracks recorded live at Estúdio Peixeboi in João Pessoa, with an all-Paraíban band, in a production that captures the artist at her most genuine: exuberant, defiant, and fully committed. The album spans nearly six decades of artistic life without ever sounding nostalgic. From a poem written at age 14 transformed into song ("Indecisão") to a pointed political statement on contemporary Brazil ("Em Resposta", in collaboration with Socorro Lira), Cátia moves between memory and the present with the ease of someone who never stopped paying attention to the world. Plurality is the record's defining trait: visceral rock in "Academias e Lanchonetes", bucolic viola clashing against futuristic synthesizers in "Negritude", tango and bolero woven into "Veias Abertas" — all held together by the unmistakable voice and dense poetics that make Cátia de França a singular figure in Brazilian music. Nominated for the 2024 Latin Grammy in the category Best Portuguese Language Rock or Alternative Album. Pressed on 180g colored vinyl, with a Gatefold cover in 350g supreme card with matte lamination and a double insert on coated paper — manufactured in Brazil by Rocinante.
